Why a shed?
A reason to leave the house, and a purpose when you arrive
Sheds work because members do something useful together, in good company.
Real projects
Planters for the nursery, bird boxes and repairs for neighbours. Useful work, done properly.
Good company
Working side by side, conversation comes easily.
New skills
Learn from members who spent a lifetime in the trades, or teach someone what you know.
Refreshments provided
Tea, biscuits and no pressure to do anything but attend.

Your first visit
What to expect
Come along, have a cup of tea and see what is in progress. A member will show you around, introduce you to others and explain how the tools and safety equipment work. You can start a project the same day or simply observe. There is no joining fee and no obligation.
Our shed runs from the nursery site at weekends. Members take on jobs for the nursery and for people in the community, and take a quiet pride in knowing their work is used.
- Free to join, tools and materials provided
- Steel toe caps are handy but not essential
- Open to all genders, ages and abilities
- Bring a friend if you'd rather not come alone

I was a joiner for forty years. When I retired I thought that was the end of it. Now I have a bench again and three friends to debate the proper way of doing things with.
